Pranksy interview

Ever wanted a little window in the thought process of a notorious NFT trader? Well here you have it.

Pranksy gave an interview on ZIMA RED podcast around the end of August, that was just published this week in 2 parts. The podcast has been very successful with well over 1000 plays. The runtime was over 3hrs, so if you didn't get a chance to listen to the whole thing, here is a TLDL version.

Pranksy is 29 years old, married, and also a father. Due to some health issues when he was a child and some heavy treatments you can hear his voice sounds a bit light.

He explains his beginning hustling online was by taking advantage of the bonus offers in online casinos.

Then by reducing the amount of time he spent doing that he started following Carlini’s advice on the NFT space.

The first venture was CK. Right on the CK craze and with the space full of noobs he profited heavily using simple tricks. On CSC he leveraged the fact that he could buy massive amounts of packs with ships etc and undercut the market by selling assets on the cheap side when the next same ship would be 2x or more from what he was asking for it. Pranksy flipped at values where he went positive of ships sales but was eons lower than the old guard prices, So this gave him quick returns to keep going on it and also a massive inventory to flip pretty much risk-free. The CSC old guard had lots of ETH and spent mass buying packs and didn't enjoy Pranksy’s tactics so they clashed a little.

Moving to F1 Delta time, after a hot tip by CocoBear he was able to eliminate the RNG from crates just by monitoring the feed and sending transactions faster. By the end he was +100 eth and 1500 assets left to sell.

On Avastars he was just minting good lookers and listing them on OpenSea. Moderats liked a lot of them and was heavily buying them. He took a big hit by Guardians Unchained because he got addicted to the animations of the packs, but the cards were not viable and meta so prices plummeted 90%. He commented that the GU project is dead and will be really hard to recover. On GarbagePailKids he bought tons of packs and the demand was really high so he instaflipped those for a total of 30k profit.

Some notable projects he missed were Cryptopunks, Decentraland and a few others.

About his cryptoart and cryptoart in general.

He started off as a sceptic and created some art to mock the hype around cryptoart which sold really well.

While building his stack he had to cash out ETH regularly at different prices, low and high, to support real-life needs and expenses. If that wasn't the case he would have an even bigger roll. You will be surprised to hear that he is not a crypto maximalist, he is looking at the challenges that have to be overtaken for crypto to be viable as currency everywhere.

He is at a very good place now and NBA TopShot is where he is applying all the knowledge he amassed so far to set up his flag.
His current goals now after buying a house and not having to worry about daily expenses is to make 1000 ETH and maybe retire early.

150 & 302

These 2 NFTs were sold for 150 and 302 ETH respectively. The buyer on both was Maxstealth.

A lot of discussion around these sales since then. It’s really good for the space when record breaking sales appear. In this case and without being a hater (my dog’s name is Joker) I fail to see the appeal why they cost so much. Looks to me more like a β€˜β€™pay the name’’ case.

Nevertheless, congrats to the collector and the artists!

Avastar ate my Hamster!

User 0x9..1B18 discovered to their abject horror this morning that cherished family pet β€œBiscuit” was missing from her cage and all that remained were the remains of a hastily made sandwich, some tufts of fur and a bottle of ketchup (recently opened).

Evidence seems to suggest that this heinous crime was perpetrated by the monstrous Avastar #10290.

User 0x9..1B18 report that, after a few beers, and some other things, they had been scrolling the newly released series 3 Avastars with Biscuit perfectly content exercising on her wheel, nearby in her cage on the corner of the desk.

0x..1B18 came across #10290 by chance and things started to go weird from there.

β€œShe seemed to leer out of the screen, almost coming straight for me with those hypnotic, unworldly green eyes. The background came to life, almost as it was calculating some evil plan and that mouth was terrifying. The zip seemed to slowly, painfully open to reveal more and more rows of teeth. #10290

As the room started to go black, all I can remember is an aching hunger feeling in my stomach and the very next thing is that I woke up at my desk this morning, to find Biscuit missing and Avastar #10290 smugly staring at me from my screen”.

The family are understandably in shock and have asked other media outlets to be respectful during this time of grief and adjustment.

AYFI/OffBlue Gainz used to fund drug fuelled secret society orgy meetings

YFI/OffBlue Gainz used to fund drug fuelled secret society orgy meetings. Kirby Implicated.

Sources revealed this week that prominent figures in the Defi world and high profile celebrities are members of a secretive, Gygas worshipping, coinophile network.

Their bi-weekly meetings are becoming famous in elite circles for their drug fuelled depravity, deviant behaviour and tales of Goomba hunting parties are frequently told in hushed corners.

Our sources reveal that well-known defi personally Kirby has been present at the majority of these meetings and regularly partakes in the β€œhunts”.

Lario - an italian plumber, contracted to provide facilities maintenance services at these events says he and his brother/business partner have been left traumatised by what they have witnessed.

β€œUsing his gainz from YFIand Offblue, Kirby lords it over the event. He has shipments of Beetleys and Koopas flown in to feed his insatiable appetite. He commands proceedings with an uncompromising lust, eating anyone who opposes or denies him.

Recent attendees Samas Aran and Pappy Van Poodle have been reported missing after they were heard to deny Kirby’s request to enter his very private suite of rooms that he keeps at each event.

Other reports from venues that have hosted these events, suggest wanton deviant behaviour, organised Furry abuse, theft of specific models of toilet cistern and graffiti inciting cheese-wizz worship.

We continue to investigate the aim of this coinophile network, known only as S1MP. and invite readers with any information to stepforward anonymously, messaging @redlioneye or @myphspace with any details.

Where Does Sergei Disappear During the Weekends?

Sergei takes weekends off! Where does he go?

The premier art critic in NFT land has announced that enough is enough!

He needs to rest.

Speculation is rife now over this week’s big question:

Where does he go?

Some say he can be found walking in the mountains, an existential weekend pilgrimage to discover the true meaning of the red pixel.

Other corners of the metaverse whisper that he’s trying to find the point to all those white on black rendered balls and studying the philosophical musings of the great Pak.

We can reveal, dear readers, that thanks to our extensive network of informants, we have the details.

Sergei is following his passion.

From a young age, after discovering one in an abandoned eye patch factory, Sergei is obsessed with designing and fabricating Spork Vending Machines.

Well known within those circles, albeit under a different name we assume, he has amassed a collection of over 9000 unique examples of the Spork Vending Machine, from its inception in the early 1940s to the most modern Hybrid fueled, Bluetooth enabled SmartSpork machines that we see today.

He has contributed in no small part to the recent paradigm shifts in the industry, for example, remuneration and electric lighting for workers and allowing women within the factory grounds.

It’s is rumored that β€œsomething big is coming” within the industry and that Sergei is at the forefront of this change.

Could it be the long-awaited fondue fork/drinking straw combination (The Fraw)?

Only time will tell.

Look out for his latest creations in a cafeteria near you.

Thank you all so much for buying and supporting the Gazette.

The feedback has been overwhelming and I keep feeding on that to make these, it’s a tedious process. The owners of the previous issue have been Artdropped 10 editions of β€˜β€™It’s been a hard day’s wash’’ Its a parody collab piece brought together by Pranksy one night on discord, the whole thing was very spontaneous and cool. This week's artdrop is very special and it's the first of many more to come!

The Gazette is now minted on a new contract so it will be possible to browse view all issues on Rarible and OS, more info on how to migrate your Gazette and get rewarded coming soon!
I will keep adding value to all Gazette owners and connect this chain of value through all my projects.
Big thanks to Parkesy and Myph for their amazing work this week!

More collabs will also follow.
