It's been said many times that it takes 10,000 hours for a person to master a skill. That may be true but on the other side you have this way of looking at it:
"I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times." - Bruce Lee
Something interesting seems to have happened in the space with a new face from Indonesia @Ghozali_Ghozalu who just released his 5 years collection on OpenSea. A collection of pictures he took of himself, every day from 2017 through 2021. It seems to have worked out at this point, apparently it's sold out. From a hopeful college student to a millionaire - all off of pictures of himself. There really aren't any comparisons to the opportunity the NFT/Crypto space can provide - even in an instant if you've done the work.
That being said, It's not everyday that you see a person who only follows 98 people on Twitter having a following of 15.4k. He must have done something right in there somewhere. Or at the very least someone must have had a good eye for investing in seemingly small projects.
It would appear that this man came out of the relative idea of nowhere as an NFT artist. He flies the flag of Indonesia, he is scarce according to his Twitter - and be careful not to offend his parents. It's really cool to see a post like this, very straightforward.Â
It takes some serious patience to create a project like this, you have to hand it to Ghozali for sticking with it as well as finding traction in the NFT Space - in what appears to be a very organic way. Other creators are in on his everydays as well:
I have talked to many creators in the space that have seen success and listened in on the many Youtube channels and Twitter live spaces. One thing that gets spotlighted often throughout the space is the lack of diversity and how to help with that, how to make a difference… There are of course many artists and collectors coming out of South East Asia, but it's hard to beat a zero to hero story like this.
There are ideas on how to do it and then there is someone just doing it - and an OG out there that goes by the name of Barthazian happened to run across Ghozali_Ghozalu and his long term project of personal pictures. That seems to be where the fire started.
So what will Ghozali_Ghozalu do now that his pictures have created life changing money? He's stated that he won't be releasing any NFT's for a long time. So will he disappear into the night somewhere out there just as fast as he appeared? Who knows, but it will be interesting to see if he stays involved in the space even if he isn't doing any drops.
Either way, congratulations on 5 years of a job well done. I imagine there will be hungry collectors out there patiently awaiting your return…
